"Sharing God in everything we do!"
Greet congregation on Sundays, hand out bulletins and other duties during services.
St Athanasius Ladies Fellowship Group
This group meets monthly in the church hall. We are the outreach committee for St. A's as we give physical, emotional and financial support to our church and the community. We hold a number of fundraisers each year such as suppers, rummage sales, our annual Christmas Holly Berry Tea and Spring Blossom Tea. We welcome and encourage new members.
Traditionally a role for young people, the server bears the cross, lights candles, serves during communion and performs other duties during special worship services.
The purpose of the chancel guild is to prepare the sanctuary for services. This includes frontal hangings, hymns on the boards, marking readings, placing flowers and polishing brass and silver. For communion services it involves preparation of the wine and hosts. Chancel members also decorate the church for special occasions like Harvest Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you are interested in joining please leave a message for Isabelle at the church office.
Elected and appointed parishioners sit on the board to meet the administrative challenges of running our church.
Helping to lift up prayers to the Lord for all those in need no matter the need.
The men of the parish are invited by Rev. Jim to this informal meeting on the last Tuesday of the month from 7:00 am - 8:30 am in the parish hall. Over coffee and a muffin we enjoy fellowship, discussion, devotional study & prayer. You can come every week or as you are able. For more information call Rev Jim at 705-441-2875.
Choir - Calling all voices!!
To become a member of the choir, a love of music is all that is required, but reading music is an asset.
Sunday School is offered to all school aged children at our church. The program year is from September to June during the 10:30 am service. A time of Bible stories, crafts and other activities is enjoyed by all that attend!
A gathering of youth ages 8-16 for fellowship and team building activities. Meetings on Mondays after school until 5 pm. Some other monthly activities for the youth as well
Our Faithworks funds are used to help many women and children, supported refugees and prevented young people from entering a life in the street. We have provided grants to many community groups including the Couchiching Jubilee House in Orillia and the David Busby Street Centre in Barrie.
Read lessons (Bible passages) during the services.
Prior to our worship services on the first Sunday of the month, we get together dark and early to fill the church hall with the wonderful aroma of coffee perking and a scrumptious breakfast cooking, as well as with the sounds of lively conversation, laughter and music. These early morning feasts are offered on a "pay what you can, cook what you can and clean what you can" rate, and are looked forward to by all that have attended them. Leave a message at the church office for Gord or Dave for more details.
Meets every Tuesday 9:30 AM - 11 AM to get a deeper understanding of the word of our Lord. All are welcome.
